Yogi Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy is a tea designed to give you an energy boost and support and elevate your mood. Assam black tea and green Maté provide 80 mg of caffeine, close to what is normally found in a cup of regular coffee (90 mg).
The tea also contains Ashwagandha which is an herb used to help people keep a calm, but focused state of mind.
Shankhpushpi is also included and is known to support brain function along with helping to relieve hypertension and anxiety. Tulsi or holy basil in the mix promotes healing and has been used in India for centuries.
Aromatic and flavoring components include floral notes from the Lotus Flower, tangerine flavoring and lemon myrtle for an overall citrusy blend.

What People are Saying
While it is not surprising that the herbs used in the tea have not been officially proven to do what they claim by the FDA, many people still do find there is an energy boost with the tea.
One Positive review commented on both the energy factor and the taste saying:
“It is full of smokey orange flavor with a hint of the mate. Reminds me of homemade orange marmalade and the specks of burnt sugar that is left in the bottom of the pot for me to enjoy later on… The energy is pretty strong and you’ll feel the effects within an hour. Not coffee like intense O_O caffeine but just a smooth, well-being energy and alertness. Recommend it if you like citrus-y teas.”
Reviewers from Steepster.com, a site dedicated to rating teas, gave it a Steepster score of 77/100 though no comments were directly related to this flavor.
More critical reviews found the flavor lacking due to the tangerine flavor not being strong enough or too many spices competing. Some did find an aftertaste. One reviewer also didn’t like the presence of stevia in the tea which is a plant-derived sweetener but can be bitter or artificial tasting to some.
Another was impressed by the positive mood and energy: “I drink one glass of this in the morning and I’m full of energy all day and it also helps me to keep a positive mood for the whole day. No matter what happens at work, I can still smile through it ever since I started drinking this tea. Love it!”
Tea can be quite subjective but this is likely good if you enjoy bold, citrusy style teas that are on the strong side.
